Mud Race organisers were thrilled with how well yesterday's event went.
Crowds lined the Promenade on Sunday to watch the 300 colourfully clad competitors battle their way through the mud and cold water and back.
Among the entrants were superheroes, Romans, a man in a mankini, cartoon characters and many more.
Event chairman Brian Farrington said: "I'm impressed with the number of people who turned out given the weather.
"We had a record entry. Three hundred signed up for it and all of them turned up.
"Normally a few drop out, but they didn't this year.
"The day has gone really well."
