Touching tributes have been paid to a young dad whose infectious smile “lit up the room”.

Former St Peter’s High School pupil Jason Fairhall, 35, died unexpectedly, leaving his family and friends shocked and devastated.

He leaves his only child, Mischa, who turns five in June.

Landscape gardener Jason grew up in Cripplegate, Southminster, with his four brothers Stephen, 32, Harry, 26, Alfie, 19, and Billy, 20, but also had a fifth brother, Daniel Green, who is in his forties.

He went to St Leonard’s Junior School in Southminster before continuing his secondary education in Burnham.

Jason’s brother Harry said: “His daughter was his whole world.

“He devoted a lot of time to her and he was an awesome dad.

“His personality was infectious.

“His smile just lit up the whole room."

A date has not yet been set for a funeral, but it is expected to take place in Chelmsford followed by a wake in Burnham.
