Fire crews called to "smoking" Essex substation after reports of explosion
Fire crews were called to reports of an explosion at a substation.
When crews arrived, smoke was coming from the substation in Victoria Road, Chelmsford.
The substation was intact and crews stood by as the electrical company isolated the power supply.
Crews had completed their work by shortly before 3.40pm and the incident was left in the care of the electrical company.
