An elderly man has been flown to hospital after collapsing in Maldon High Street.
The ambulance service was called at 2.47pm today and sent a rapid response vehicle, ambulance and air ambulance to the scene.
A spokesman said: “He was in a life-threatening condition and needed critical care at the scene.
“He was flown to Basildon hospital for further care.”
The air ambulance landed in Plume School’s playing field.
