To mark the 20th birthday of the lottery, we asked shoppers on Maldon High Street whether they would spend or save and what they would do with £1million.
Manager of Pizza Time, Gino Sahan, 58, of High Street, Maldon, said: “If I won £1million I would give £10,000 to poor people who need it.
“The rest of it I would invest in property and I’d be a good hearted landlord.”
Matt Budd, 41, owner of The Barber Shop, of Norfolk Road, Maldon said: “I would sort out all my family first.
“I would save some of it, invest some definitely but I would have a fleet of luxury cars like Lamborghinis and motor bikes.
“I’d have an enormous house in the country and a yacht in Ibiza.
“It’s everyone’s dream isn’t it?”
Director Julia Brown, 51, of Longfellow Road, said: “I’d save half and spend half.
“I would buy my daughter a house to set her up in life, I’d give some to charity, sort my parents out and then I would sit on the rest of it until I needed it.”
