A creative mum who set up her own jewellery making business is inspiring other mums to follow their dreams after setting up her own jewellery making business.

Sarah Thomas, of The Fairways, Cold Norton, has wanted to sell her handmade jewellery ever since she was a teenager but a lack of confidence meant she turned down several opportunities.

But, on turning 40 in July, she decided to take the plunge and is now building up a thriving business called Made by Plumb and is inspiring other mums to do the same by holding an event to give them an opportunity to sell their homemade wares.

Ms Thomas, who specialises in stirling silver jewellery, said: “I have so many talented friends and they all make some lovely, beautiful things that people enjoy and appreciate but the idea of putting yourself out there is nerve wracking.

“We are doing it all together which is a lot more comfortable than doing it individually."

The event, called Inspired Mums, will take place at 7pm in Cold Norton Village Hall, in Cherry Blossom Lane, on October 24.
