Detectives have launched a murder investigation after the body of a man was found in a property in Broomfield Road in Chelmsford.
Officers were called just after 8.30am this morning (Tuesday, September 30).
They attended the property and discovered the body with multiple injuries.
Police have arrested a 29-year-old man of no fixed address on suspicion of murder.
He is currently in custody being questioned by detectives.
The area behind The Ship public house has been cordoned off while forensic investigations are carried out.
DCI Martin Pasmore, who is leading the investigation, appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
He said: "I’m keen to speak to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area. The victim was found with stab injuries in a property on a busy road and I would urge anyone with information to contact me.”
