A funeral home is putting up a plaque in memory of a former employee.

Angela Bearman, of Heybridge, died in July, aged 73.

Andrew Cranvey, manager of A.G.Smith Funeral Directors, Spital Road, where Angela worked for 25 years, said the company wanted to commemorate Angela’s dedication.

He said: “Angela did most of the funeral arranging.

“She made it a lot easier for people during the saddest times of their lives.

“A lot of people wouldn’t know her name but would recognise her photo.

“She was a very caring person which is important, she would sit down and talk to people, take them through their options and organise it exactly how they wanted.”

He said all the employees wanted to mark Angela’s time at the business.

He said: “She was very proud that she had been here for 25 years and the company has been here for 100, so for a quarter of it.

“Her dedication to the job made her special, she had the ability to put people at ease, we talk to people at their lowest ebb and she was a special person who could do this.
