You would be forgiven for thinking these images of white sands and sparking water were captured in the Med.

Not so, Marconi Sailing Club used a remote control drone with a high definition camera to film breathtaking scenes of the Blackwater estuary.

The club, situated in Steeple, held its Cadet Week during the summer and members were delighted when one budding adult sailor brought along the drone.

Following the event, Rear Commodore Graham Cross spent hours editing the footage.

He said: “We saw the club from angles we had never seen before.

“The Osea spit looks like it’s in the Med.

“It’s a really clever piece of kit.”
