A driving instructor says she has no regrets about phoning police after seeing a woman jump off a Maldon bridge.
Last Tuesday, tombstoners leapt from the A414 bridge over the River Chelmer during rush hour leaving eyewitnesses concerned for their safety.
Tina Likeman had been taking a driving lesson when she and her pupil saw a woman looking “distressed” with her hands over her face.
Mum-of-two Mrs Likeman, of Maldon, said: “I’m a bit surprised at the Facebook debate going on about whether or not someone should have called the police.
“I was driving on a busy road and you don’t expect someone to jump off a bridge.
“You have a young lady who looks like she has committed suicide.”
