The manager of a newly refurbished shop has slammed ‘mindless’ vandals who caused thousands of pounds worth of damage only weeks after it reopened.
Bairstow Eves, of Station Road, Burnham, reopened at the beginning of August after a complete refurbishment.
Last weekend, between 10.30pm on Saturday and 8.30am on Sunday, lighting running around the outside of the shop was pulled down and damaged.
The damage has been valued at £2,000.
Mr Warren said: “I think it’s a drunk on a Saturday night.
“You have got to jump to get to the lights, either that or stand on someone’s shoulders, they’re about seven foot off the ground.
“It’s mindless yobbos.
“I’m a local guy, I like supporting the area, but this is just mindless.”
