A family are appealing for the return of a stolen house sign commemorating their dead pets.

After delivery drivers kept moaning about a lack of a proper house sign at Jane and Adam Bennett’s house in Scotts Hill, Southminster, their children decided to club together and buy a specially designed one as a belated Christmas present.

But the sign, which also commemorated their late family pets, Sparkle, a dog who was run over last year, and their horse Savannah, has now gone missing.

Daughter Laura, 24, said: “My parents would just like it back, they are just upset that someone could do that - it seems so silly as it’s just a house sign but it’s quite sentimental as it was a Christmas present.”

Anyone with any information about the missing house sign should call Laura on 07909 094072.
