Crash leaves cyclist with serious injuries: Police appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses following a crash which has left a cyclist with serious injuries.

The collision happened at around 4.30pm yesterday in Chelmer Road at the junction with Sandford Road, Chelmsford.

It involved a cyclist who was riding a Giant red cycle and a red Fiat Panda vehicle.

The cyclist, who is in his 70s and lives in the local area, was taken to Broomfield Hospital by ambulance after he suffered serious head and shoulder injuries.

He has been transferred to Addenbrookes Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Pc Natacha Hasler at the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on Essex Police 101 or they can email collisionappeal@essex.pnn.police.ukand quote incident number 0759 of 3rd September 2014.
