Tributes have been paid to a “spirited and gutsy” woman who died from a head injury at her home in Heybridge.

A Maldon man is currently on bail after having been arrested following the death of Sarah Munro, 39, of Heron Way, on Sunday night (August 24).

Sarah was pronounced dead at about 9.45pm after paramedics had tried in vain to revive her.

Her body was found at the bottom of stairs in her home.

Sarah moved from Leeds to the Maldon area about 17 years ago.

She was not married and is not known to have had any children, but is a familiar face to many having worked at Netto on the Bentalls shopping complex in Heybridge before the premises were turned into an Asda store.
