Life on a quiet street is marred by drunken vandalism, fighting, arguing and screaming in the early hours.
Poppy Miller, 68, resident of Butt Lane, said she now sleeps with a mobile phone next to her bed, to allow her to contact police as soon as possible.
She thinks the problem will only increase when Wetherspoons opens.
Ms Miller, who has lived in Butt Lane for 18 years, said: “The Rose and Crown was our local.
“There was the occasional celebration and late night drinking in the early days, but vandalism, fighting, arguing, screaming and swearing in the streets, was rare.
“It now seems commonplace at weekends."
