Plans for the district’s leisure centres to change hands are on track, according to the Overview and Scrutiny committee.
In May, Places for People were nominated as the preferred bidder to operate the Blackwater Leisure Centre and Dengie Hundred Sports Centre, taking over from Leisure Connection.
The handover happens in October and looks on track so far.
Maldon District Council additionally approved a £2 million investment in the centres for refurbishment.
Work will begin in October and end in April 2015.
A key part of the handover will be the successful granting of planning consent for a small extension to the Blackwater Leisure Centre, for an aerobics studio.
The application will be considered at the Central Planning Committee on Wednesday.
