There were shrieks of glee, floods of happy tears and an awful lot of hugging as Ormiston Rivers Academy students celebrated picking up their A Level results.
The Academy, in Southminster Road, Burnham, opened its doors to students and parents for them to pick up their results on this morning.
More than 40 nervous students crowded into the school, in Southminster Road, Burnham, to collect their grades, with 98 per cent achieving A* to E grades, matching last year’s results.
Principal Joan Costello said: “I’m absolutely delighted, we have just achieved A grades right across the board and also in very academic subjects like physics and English.
“We have all worked really hard as a school and the kids and teachers have worked even harder and there has been lots of parental support.
“I think the community has pulled together to make sure the youngsters achieve their examinations and their dreams.”
See the Maldon and Burnham Standard next Thursday for the full story and pictures of some of the high achievers.
