A LIFEBOAT and coastguard team recovered passengers of a sailing vessel after it ran aground.

Thames Coastguard received a 999 call from the 23 ft sailing vessel with two people on board at around 7.30pm last night.

The vessel was aground and leaning at a dangerous angle near to Brandy Hole on the River Crouch.

Burnham RNLI Lifeboat and South Woodham Coastguard Rescue Team helped the passengers to shore.
