A woman in her 90s was taken to hospital after a car collided into the side of a sheltered housing complex.
Fire, police and ambulance attended the scene of the collision, at Berridge House, Mill Road, Maldon, on Tuesday evening.
Katie Gowler, 24, of Royal Court, walked past the scene at 7.15pm on her way to church.
She said: “The car had gone through the wall on the corner.
“There were two fire engines, an ambulance car and the police and it looked like the ambulance car was treating the driver, but nothing looked serious."
The emergency services could not confirm whether the woman taken to hospital was in the car involved in the collision, or the extent of her injuries.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Trust, which sent an ambulance, officer and response car to the scene, said: “A woman, believed to be 93, was conveyed to Broomfield Hospital for further care.”
