Cricket and rugby clubs one step closer to being able to expand their grounds after council offers support with proposals
Maldon's cricket and rugby clubs are one step closer to being able to expand after councillors voted to support their development proposals.
The Maldon Rugby Football Club and Maldon Cricket Club have outgrown their current site at Drapers Farm, in Heybridge, which they lease from Maldon District Council.
They want to acquire a field next to the site where they hope to create new pitches, a training area, improve their clubhouse, extend the car park and build a new access road.
At a meeting on July 15, the council voted to work with the clubs to support them with their development proposals.
