A housing association has been highly commended at a national award ceremony.

Moat, which provides support and affordable homes in the South East, was highly commended in the Responsible Small Business category as part of the Responsible Business Awards, organised by Santander and Business in the Community.

The awards, which were held on July 8 at the Royal Albert Hall, London, recognised Moat for using their position in communities to change behaviour, provide financial solutions and improve the environment and economic climate which has in turn cut costs and reduced rent arrears.

Elizabeth Austerberry, Moat’s chief executive, said: “We are absolutely delighted with our ‘Highly Commended’ award, which recognises the incredible work our teams do to bring an end to housing need.”
