A motorist will appear in court next month after he was charged with killing a man by dangerous driving in mid-Essex.
The collision happened when the driver of a Ford Escort van lost control of the vehicle while travelling along Leighams Road, Bicknacre, and struck a tree shortly after 9:30pm on Saturday, September 28, 2013.
One of four passengers, William Andrews, 18, of Shirebourn Vale in South Woodham Ferrers, was certified dead at the scene.
Nicholas Weston, 22, of Pedlars Path, Danbury, has been charged with one count of causing death by dangerous driving and one count of causing serious injury to another passenger by dangerous driving.
He is currently on police bail until his appearance at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Wednesday, August 27.
