A woman raised more than one thousand pounds, by shaving her hair off as part of a charity campaign.

Jo Haward, 39, of The Spinnaker, St Lawrence, shaved her head last Thursday as part of Macmillans ‘Shave or Style’ fundraising campaign.

The shave was carried out by Emily Creighton, Mrs Haward’s regular hairdresser.

Mrs Haward said: “The whole evening was fun, the shave itself took about 10 minutes.

“I never used to do much with my hair, it was lucky if it was brushed, but this morning in the shower it was strange not washing it."
