A Maldon woman is threatening to camp out on the council car park if she cannot be found accommodation in her home town.
Claire Phillips, who suffers unstable personality disorder and depersonalisation disorder whereby she forgets who she is, is set to become homeless today after a temporary stay at a caravan park.
Mother-of-three Miss Phillips says she is desperate to move back to Maldon and believes a more permanent home would also help her mental health.
A Maldon District Council spokesman said: “We do have a very strong track record of preventing homelessness, working with customers and other agencies to find alternate accommodation.
“The council will contact Miss Phillips next week to discuss the matters, and as with all customers, we will endeavour to provide help and advice to help resolve her housing situation.”
