New figures published by Public Health England have shown some worrying trends emerging in the Maldon district.

The health profiles, which are compiled by Public Health England, draw together a range of information to present a picture of health in a particular area.

The profiles outline health inequalities and areas that need improvement for each local area alongside information for the rest of the England, allowing local authorities and health services to understand their communities’ needs and work to improve health.

This year’s profile, released on July 8, have revealed that, although the Maldon district is rated as “generally better than the England average” and performs better in many categories, including the numbers of adults taking part in physical exercise and a drop in the amount of teenage pregnancies, there are still areas that need improvement.
