As nobody yet seems to have anything positive to say, I would like to say that it's brilliant that this race is passing through. If I could be off work, I would be there! Crowds may be a little less as it's a working day, but I hope this stage goes as well as the Yorkshire stages. Allez le Tour!

don't worry, miserable people, it's all over now! You can get back to a normal life where nothing extraordinary ever happens. Somewhere in the region of 3.5 million people came out to see this. I think it's worth sacrificing one day of routine for that.

Just saw the cyclists zooming past my office in the City and it was quite a spectacle.
I had no idea how fast they went.

I also had no idea how many support cars there were!

Well there has been some right miserable gits posting on here about the Tour De France, it has caused a bit of disruption for one day only. It will more than likely be the only time that this world wide watched event will be in Essex. l drove into Chelmsford this morning at 8.45, traffic so light less than an early sunday morning

Well said, Romantic and others, for putting the miserable gits in their place. I don't think they even mind about their boring routines being disturbed. They just wanted to moan about millions of people having a great day out.
    Vive le Tour!

I think the only people moaning are the sad little minority who have nothing going on in their lives at all ! It's the TDF and all you lot act like It's invented purely to disrupt your day!

Get a life and some joy in your world. The best thing though was that it kept the white van Prats off our roads.... even if it was just 1 day!
