Disabled children will enjoy the sights of Maldon when the traditional East London Cabbies Outing comes to town.
For the last 62 years, drivers have brought youngsters from east London, Romford and Dagenham to Maldon for a much needed day out in the country.
The youngsters are given meals, entertainment, spending money, toys and goodie bags and all the drivers give up their day’s work on the road to voluntarily take the children on the trip.
Maldonians can see the cars, bedecked with balloons, parade in convoy up the High Street on Wednesday, July 2.
They will reach Plume School at about 1pm, where pupils will serve lunch and play music to entertain them.
The convoy will then leave at about 2.30pm and head to Maldon’s Promenade Park, where there will be music, entertainment, and rides.
