A brave team of walkers tackled a 40-mile walk to raise money for The Cystic Fibrosis Trust in memory of a popular teenager.

Kristian Long, 19, lost his battle with cystic fibrosis in June last year but his family have continued to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust in his name.

Gill Long, Kristian’s mum, took part in the Great Strides 65 for the trust with her team, made up of Kim Broughton, Hayley Darling, Louise Young, Dawn Friend and Sandy Long.

They wore t-shirts personalised with Kristian’s name, age and favourite football team, Chelsea.

Mrs Long, 52, said: “We raised just over £3,000 for the charity.

“It was such a great achievement and the charity has raised more than £50,000 in total from the walk.”
