Claimants must inform HMRC of any changes to their circumstances
Thousands of people receiving tax credits in Maldon need to renew their claims or risk losing money.
Last year 650,000 claimants stopped receiving their money because they had not renewed their claim with HMRC by July 31.
In Maldon 3,200 residents receive the money out of 83,800 claimants Essex-wide.
Claimants must inform HMRC about any changes in circumstance, including in working hours, childcare costs, income and who lives in the house.
Claimants can renew by post, phone or online at gov.uk if there are no changes to report.
