Colourful residents are proudly showing off their unusual tattoos.

The Standard asked if anyone had any curious inkings, after it was reported that Jill Abramson, who was fired from her job as the New York Times executive editor, had a tattoo of the gothic T used in the paper’s masthead.

Mark Groom, 43, of Hillside Road, Burnham, has an eight-inch tattoo of a man spray-painting on his arm, which has now become part of the advertising for his business, M D Groom Car Body Repairs, on the Springfield Industrial Estate, Burnham.

He said: “If an employee had our logo done I would’t worry, I’d be quite proud.”
