A fancy dress shop run by Burnham Carnival is open for business.

Anyone needing a costume carnival day itself or for any other reason can make a small donation as a hire charge, which will be given to local charities and good causes.

It will be next to the car park at Ormiston Rivers Academy in Southminster Road, Burnham, until October and is open on Saturday mornings from 10am to 1pm.

There is a stock of 2,000 costumes, mostly genuine period items that have been donated.

A new location is being sought for the shop.

Anyone with suitable premises can contact John Randall on 01621 783134 or randalls59@btinternet.com.
