A woman was taken to hospital after her car ended up in a pond.
Police were called to Lower Burnham Road in Latchingdon shortly before 4pm today.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Two ambulances, an ambulance officer, a rapid response vehicle, and the hazardous area response team were sent to the scene.
“A woman, believed to be in her 50s, suffered head and chest injuries and was taken to Basildon Hospital by land ambulance.
“Her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.”
The road was closed for about an hour while emergency services dealt with the incident.
