Developers have tweaked a masterplan for 1,375 homes in Maldon.
Maldon District Council's draft Local Development Plan includes the south Maldon ‘garden suburb’ off Limebrook Way.
Developers who are working on the masterplan said more than 200 residents attended a public consultation in March.
David Lewis, from Commercial Estates Group, said: “We appreciate that any development is sensitive and some did not want new homes close to where they live, but many attendees were supportive of the garden suburb principles.”
Public feedback has resulted in some changes so far, including fewer homes along Limebrook Way, inclusion of a health centre near the planned shops and school and new roundabouts to improve access for existing residents onto Limebrook Way.
