A loving sibling was left ‘buzzing’ after raising more than £1,000 for charity, in memory of his older brother.
Mike Edwards, of St Stephen’s Road, Cold Norton, organised a charity football match between his Sunday league team, Southminster & Norton, and a squad of ex-Southend United players, the Southend United Legends.
He raised £1,150 from the match and a further £699 via a JustGiving page for the Lullaby Trust, a charity helping bereaved parents.
He said: “I’m buzzing from the figure we reached, I’m hoping to get through the £2,000 mark.”
