A retired midwife who celebrates her 105th birthday on Friday reckons she could still deliver a baby if she was asked.

Rosina Price was born on May 16, 1909, to parents Rosina and Joseph. Now living at Brewster House care home in Oak Road, Maldon, she has lived previously in Witham, Clapton and Cheshunt.

She said: “I worked very hard all my life.

“I used to look after mothers delivering their babies, in Hackney hospital and all over the place.

“If someone asked me to help them deliver a baby now I could do it.”
