A construction company is more than £12,000 out of pocket after thieves stole expensive power tools and light fittings after smashing into an industrial estate unit.
Thieves made off with Makita and Bosch power tools, new light fittings and brand new electrical equipment worth £12,000 and caused £600 of damage after breaking into the unit on the Station Industrial Estate, in Burnham.
The owner of the company, who asked not to be named, said that the company was fitting out the unit in preparation for a new business to open there in June but returned to work one morning to discover the rolling shutters badly damaged and another door wide open.
Essex Police believe the suspects may have headed off towards Foundry Lane after the break-in, which happened between 4pm on May 5 and 7.10am on May 6.
Essex Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with any information should contact 101.
