Officers investigating a collision between a cyclist and a car on Wednesday are appealing for the injured cyclist to come forward.

The accident happened at the junction of Goldhanger Road and Basin Road at 8.50am on Wednesday morning.

The cyclist was taken to Broomfield hospital for treatment to non life-threatening injuries and left hospital before police officers managed to speak to him.

Essex Police said: "Investigation officers would like to speak to the victim who left hospital.

"If they could come forward that would be very helpful.

"Please contact Pc Rayner at Chelmsford Police on 101."
