Curves, the female-only gym, has collected food items for two months to donate to Maldon Food Pantry, which is running low on supplies.

The Pantry, which gives food parcels to families or individuals in need relies on donations to survive.

Caroline Sparks, 46, of Hemmings Court, Maldon is a circuit trainer at the Mill Lane, Maldon gym and organised the collection.

She said: “New members normally pay a joining fee of £59, but during March and April they had to donate a bag of non-perishable food items instead.”

Rob Sefton, of Maldon Food Pantry said that without donations the Pantry would not survive.

He said: “We are totally reliant on members of the public, this is such a wonderful thing for the gym to do for us."
