The police helicopter was scrambled to search for a missing 11-year-old girl in Latchingdon.
Officers were contacted shortly before 8.30pm yesterday, following the concerns of the girl’s welfare.
After two hours of mobile phone conversations with the girl and a search of the area by the helicopter, she was found by officers safe and well.
She was returned to her guardian.
A police spokesman said: “The girl has gone missing three times in the last six months.”
