A mum was shocked when she helped an elderly gentleman who had fallen over and ended up waiting 90 minutes for an ambulance.
Lauren Wallace, 22, of St Giles Crescent, Maldon had got off a bus on Spital Road with her three-year-old daughter Sienna and a friend, when they spotted the man lying on the ground.
An employee from the Crusty Loaf was already helping him.
Miss Wallace said: “He kept saying his back was sore when he breathed.
“He was lying on the pavement and we’d been told not to move him by the emergency operators.
“He was getting quite agitated because of people walking past, we were trying to make jokes to ease his embarrassment.”
