Alex Jennings with his own cannon that he has restored
A two hundred year old cannon may be restored after a Burnham man expressed concerns over it’s state.
Alex Jennings, 82, of Fernlea Road, Burnham is calling for the iron cannon belonging to Burnham Town Council to be restored and reinstated nearer the waterfront.
He said: “I want the cannon to be set back in it’s old place at the Quayside sea wall."
Mr Jennings first called for the cannon to be moved in 2012 and contacted Burnham Town Council in January again expressing his concern about the cannon.
His plans for restoring the cannon to the Quay are based on how he has secured his own cannon at his home.
