More than 500 comments were made about plans that will shape future development in the Maldon district.

Maldon District Council’s pre-submission Local Development Plan and proposals map, which sets out how and where the district should be developed between now and 2029, was endorsed by councillors in December.

Between January 22 and March 12 it was opened to public consultation.

It has now emerged 225 groups or individuals responded, making 510 separate comments.

Having made “minor changes”, the document is now due to be endorsed for submission to the Secretary of State for examination in public at a meeting next Wednesday.
