Plans to revitalise a fire-ravaged marina are due to be considered by councillors.
A planning application to restore Blackwater Marina, in Esplanade, Mayland, to its former glory after a fire broke out in May 2009 has now been submitted to Maldon District Council.
The proposed scheme would encompass a new residential area, refurbishment and extension of the boatyard and a business and leisure centre.
Developers hope to build 13 houses - three, two and one-bedroom homes - arranged over three floors.
A design and access statement for the development stated: “The site suffered from a major fire accident in 2009, causing significant damage to the main boatshed, which consequently had to be demolished."
