A new full-time ambulance will be stationed in Burnham to combat lengthy waiting times in the Dengie.
After years of lobbying, a 24-hour ambulance will be brought into the town this month to help meet the district’s needs, it was announced last week by representatives of the East of England ambulance service.
It will be one of eight new ambulances to be brought into the region in a bid to improve performance and patient care.
A spokesman said: “We are looking at putting an ambulance in, which will be based in Burnham at the end of April.
“It will obviously help the whole of the Dengie area and provide cover for the area."
