A councillor hopes moving a market into a central location will give it a boost.

Maldon market is currently held in Butt Lane on Thursdays and there are some stalls on Saturdays.

Town councillor Mark Heard is keen to see it moved into the High Street, ideally outside All Saints church, but said Essex County Council has raised issues with health and safety.

Maldon District Council had suggested putting a market in St Peter’s churchyard but town councillors were not keen.

It's subject posed with "the hand" just in case you can't work out where the space is. Terrible photography. A good place for a market though.
