A great-granddad intends to fight his increased housing bills because his pension does not stretch far enough.
Clifford Cheverall, of Church Green, Wickham Bishops, was shocked to receive a letter from Moat housing association about his rent and service charges rising by up to £15 a week.
The 80-year-old, who is widowed, said he is unable to cope with the rising bills because he is only just about coping on his £161-a-week pension.
He said: “If they put up the prices, I just can’t afford to stay here.
“It works out at about £40 extra a month and I can’t afford to give it.
“It’s impossible."
