Blackwater and Longfield Patient Reference Groups organised the meeting

First published in News

Too many patients for too few GPs and lack of money for health services were among issues raised by concerned patients.

More than 100 people attended a public meeting at St Peter’s Hospital, Maldon, on Tuesday March 11, to discuss the NHS in Maldon.

Patients said the meeting had helped explain how the NHS works, following changes last year which saw doctors take responsibility for commissioning services.

Trevor Fernades, chair of the Blackwater Patient Reference Group, which organised the meeting, said: “The patient community told us they don’t know what the changes were within the NHS or how it would impact on them.

“People were hungry for the information."

Its not just Maldon, its going on everywhere in Essex and the whole business with regard to Doctors, Surgeries etc etc part of the NHS needs a good sorting out. Complaints upon complaints, meeting upon meetings etc are doing no good at all. As far as the powers to be in the NHS is concerned, there is nothing wrong!!!!! May I suggest the Powers that Be come down and try and make an appointment to see a Doctor, I think they would be very shocked, or would they!!!!.
