A retired traindriver is concerned people’s safety is being jeopardised by the removal of an emergency telephone at a level crossing.
Michael Fitzgerald, 62, claimed it was removed after the crossing in Chestnut Close, Burnham.
School children are among the pedestrians who regularly use the route to reach the Maple Estate.
However, Network Rail, which is responsible for the crossing, claims it was unaware there had ever been a phone.
