The positive impact of apprenticeships on both people and businesses has been celebrated this week.
Since 2009, 2,665 Essex apprentices have been recruited by businesses and National Apprentice Week, 3-7 March, highlighted the scheme’s success.
Lucy White, 19, joined the Essex County Council part-funded apprenticeship after finishing a full-time college course.
She wanted to train and study as an accountant at the same time as gaining practical work experience.
The programme has enabled her to achieve her Level 3 qualification while also working full time, as opposed to doing a part time college course with no experience.
