Work by famous artists to be displayed in Maldon
3:00pm Saturday 8th March 2014 in News
Artwork by famous names including David Hockney, Tracy Emin and Damien Hirst will be coming to Maldon.
Hayletts Gallery in Maldon High Street is displaying original prints by a host of big names until April 5.
They will also be available to buy.
A gallery spokesman said: “By the term original prints, it means an etching, monoprint, screenprint, woodcut, linocut, lithograph, or engraving, which the artist has created by hand as opposed to a reproduction or photographic print.
“Many processes have gone back generations and are generally time consuming and complicated techniques.
“With each different process it allows the artist to create a different finish to suit their needs, be it delicate lines or large bold shapes.
“The prints are usually limited, numbered and signed by the artist.”
Hayletts Gallery is open 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Saturday. Call 01621 851669.
